The Body Shop Born Lippy Lipbalms

The Body Shop Born Lippy Lip Balms have always been one of my favorites and in fact one of the first beauty products I brought with my own money, but that was when they were in those little pots (They still are in fact in those little pots but I just prefer stick lip balms) So these little beauties always hold a special place in my heart.

My excitement was probably unnecessary when I saw they had stepped up the Born Lippy range, I was over the moon about the new packaging and new and improved structure of a stick instead of a pot (in my opinion). The packaging is very cute and girly, eye catching in every way. Each lip balm has their own colour and pattern, as I'm sure you can see from the pictures above. I own the colours / flavours: Lychee, Plum, Pomergrante, Pink Berry and Strawberry.

This is Lychee Shimmer. It's white on the stick with very subtle hints of silver glitter but applies clear. It's not the best smelling one of the bunch which is unfortunate as it's quite a highly concentrated fragrance, it reminds me of a cleaning product if I'm honest, but still somehow one of my favorites.

The next one is Pink Berry. It's just a plain peachy pink which applies with a hint of peach, but just a hint.To me it smells like a Rhubarb and Custard hard boiled sweet (one of my favorite sweets if you didn't know) So this is highly liked by me, but if you don't like sugary sweet scents I suggest giving this a pass.

Next up is Pomegranate. The colour is a orange toned red which applies with a very slight tint of orange. This is a slightly more mature musky scent which I can't quite put my finger on, but this is definitely my favorite out of all of them.

I didn't have very high expectations for Strawberry at first and I still don't now necessarily. This is an orange based pink, which to me is quite unusual. The scent is just like strawberry laces, which at first I loved but now I find sickly. So this isn't one of my favorites out of the ones I own.

And lastly, plum. It's just a pure pink based purple and smells just like plums. I was hoping this was going to give more of a purple tint but instead it verges more to the pink side of things, which is fine but I've just been craving purple tinted lips recently.

Overall these are fairly decent lip balms but not as great as I thought they'd be and fairly priced at £3 each however there are more misses than hits from what I have found so far which is unfortunate as they used to be a favorite of mine.

Goodbye for now,
